Tensions in ANC Mpumalanga Spiraling out of Control

Fights during Branch Meetings

Today, ANC’s Deputy Secretary General Jessie Duarte and Nomvula Mokonyane visited Mpumalanga to defuse tensions that were spiraling out of control in the provincial branch meetings.

Violence broke out last week during a branch meeting where chairs were thrown all over the place by alleged bogus secretaries and ANC members who tried to sit an illegitimate branch meeting.  Hence the visit by the two NEC members Jessie Duarte and Nomvula Mokonyane to resolve the matter.

ANC members across the Province are calling for the suspension of the branch meetings because because the organisation has been infiltrated by illegitimate members conducting bogus meetings ahead of Conference.

“We are tired of the leadership of this province. The NEC must disband the province so that a neutral body can run the PEC in order for things to run smoothly ahead of conference ”, ANC member in attendance of the meeting.

Local ANC members are protesting dissatisfaction that Mpumalanga Acting Provincial Secretary in the person of appointing subordinates through favoritism.

The general consensus within the province is that all branch meetings must be suspended to give the NEC an opportunity to ascertain the legitimate provincial leadership and members.

In another matters, Mpumalanga’s Acting Provincial Secretary has been pointed to be a strong ally and sympathiser of Secretary General Ace Magashule who is left with less than two weeks to step aside or face suspension.
