Popular artist and entrepreneur Nkosinathi “Black Coffee” Maphumulo appeared before the Randburg Magistrate’s court today with ex-wife Mbalenhle Mlotshwa for domestic violence.
Enhle had applied for a protection order against Black Coffee accusing him of domestic violence during an altercation that happened at their family home last month.
It is alleged Black Coffee slapped Enhle on the wrist after a disagreement, however the accused is resisting the protection order.
Enhle argues that even though it was not a brutal violent attack, she still needs to obtain a protection order against her ex-husband to enter the family home.
“No matter how small it is, it always escalates. We have the case of Karabo, Reva Steinkamp…and I want that to stop. I will continue to fight until justice is done”, said Mbali.

It is alleged that Black Coffee was unhappy with a birthday celebration that was held at the family when he called Enhle aside and subsequently slapped her on the wrist.
The Randburg Magistrate Court has reserved judgement for the Protection Order application.
