Carl Niehaus, Spokesperson of the Umkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA) has dismissed allegations of being part of anti-Cyril Ramaphosa RET forces causing factionalism within the ANC.
The MKMVA has been pointed in causing social disorder and promoting factionalism within the party which President Ramaphosa reprimanded in the ANC NEC meeting outcomes on Monday.
Carl Niehaus has been known to be a member of the Radical Economic Transformation (RET) forces and mobilizing ANC members that are sympathetic towards ANC Secretary General, Ace Magashule who is facing multiple counts of corruption and abuse of public Office. Added to that list, is also former President Jacob Zuma.
I a media statement with ENCA following the outcomes of the NEC meetings, Carl Niehaus maintains that he is a disciplined member of the ANC and he is not part of RET forces operating within within the organization.
“I have never been a member of any factional group in the ANC.I have always been disciplined and I am a full member of the African National Congress”, said Neihaus.
Following the outcomes of the ANC NEC meeting, President Cyril Ramaphosa condemned emerging groups within the ANC to undermine the party’s resolutions and leadership structures.
The Radical Economic Transformation (RET) is a resolution by the ANC aimed at addressing economic inclusivity and redistribution of wealth.
RET received a wave of support within the ANC at the organisation’s 54TH conference where a cluster of party members sympathetic towards former President Jacob Zuma mobilized a faction under banner and slogan of ‘RET’. In the development of internal politics within the ANC, Cyril Ramaphosa was then labelled an organised faction within the ANC.
